We build one of the products on this list.
Most roundups like this hide that sentence, which is why they all conclude the author’s product is best. Ours is here on the same terms as everyone else: real strengths, published prices with the month we checked them, and a straight answer about who should buy something else. Where a vendor does not publish pricing we say so rather than guessing. What earns a place is being a genuine option for a UK martial arts club in 2026.
Gymdesk
US-built gym software with a strong martial arts following and probably the most polished interface in this list. Flat monthly tiers by active member count: $75 a month up to 50 members, rising to $200 up to 400 (August 2026), with payment processing on top. For an established club that wants mature, general-purpose software and can carry a fixed dollar cost through the quiet months, it is a strong pick; a small UK club watching the exchange rate and wanting Bacs-first collection will feel the friction.
MAAT
Combat-sports software with a BJJ and MMA heart, popular with European academies. One unlimited plan at $49 a month billed annually ($59 monthly) plus a 1% transaction fee, with Stripe fees on top (August 2026). The member app is very good, and their free concierge migration, payment methods included, is the strongest switching offer on the market.
Suits: BJJ and MMA academies, especially multi-language ones. Less suited to: traditional clubs wanting kyu/dan grading structures, licensing and UK safeguarding tooling as first-class features.
NEST Management
The UK incumbent for martial arts clubs, and the only other percentage model here: 1.98% to 6% of collections with a £50 monthly minimum, fees included. Their published band averages work out at about £150 a month for a 50-to-100-student club and £349 for 100 to 250 (August 2026). The important thing to understand about that price is what it buys: consultancy, webinars and marketing support are bundled in, and for a club that wants a growth partner rather than a software subscription the bundle is the product. A club that just wants the platform is paying for coaching it will not use.
Martialytics
Purpose-built martial arts school software with a loyal base. Flat tiers from $69 to $199 a month by student count, every feature on every tier, processing at standard Stripe rates on top (August 2026). Belt tracking and grading workflows are solid and a free student app is included.
Suits: schools that want focused martial arts software with simple, predictable pricing. Less suited to: very small clubs, where $69 a month plus processing is a big slice of turnover.
Kicksite
Long-standing US martial arts software. Flat tiers from $49 a month for up to 25 students to $199 for 101 plus (July 2026), processing on top, website services sold separately. Watch the band edges: one extra student can move the bill $50 a month.
Suits: US-style schools comfortable with that ecosystem. Less suited to: UK clubs, where dollar pricing, website add-ons and the tier cliffs stack up.
ClubRight
UK-built membership software for gyms and clubs generally, with landing pages for boxing gyms and dojos. Core is £79 a month plus VAT, Complete £129 plus VAT, an optional website service at £25, and collection on top: their published Stripe rate is 1.95% plus 20p, or Direct Debit at 40p to 45p per collection (July 2026).
Suits: UK clubs that want a domestic vendor and are happy with generalist club software. Less suited to: clubs wanting gradings and syllabus tracking built in rather than bolted on.
TeamUp
Class-first fitness software covering many verticals, martial arts among them, with one of the best booking experiences in this list and free data import. $119 a month covers up to 100 active customers, which means a 30-member club pays the same as a 100-member studio; higher tiers rise by band with prices unpublished, and a custom branded app is another $99 a month (July 2026). Mixed-timetable class businesses fit it well. Clubs that think in gradings, licences and syllabus will be working against the grain.
OurClub
Ours. UK-built for martial arts clubs specifically: gradings and belt syllabus, licensing, safeguarding-controlled messaging, class scheduling with kiosk check-in, club shop, and a native member app included. The pricing is the unusual part: no monthly fee, one all-in percentage from 3.25% tapering toward 2.75% as volume grows, card and transaction fees included. Clubs registered before 1 November 2026 keep the founding ladder permanently.
Where we are the wrong choice, honestly: multi-vertical fitness businesses, and large flat-fee-minded clubs that have done the maths and prefer a fixed bill. One more admission - there is no white-label branding here and no per-club branded app, by design. Every club’s members use the OurClub app. TeamUp will sell you a branded app for $99 a month; if that matters more to you than what the app does, we are not your platform.
Choosing between them
Do the boring thing first: put your real member numbers through a like-for-like monthly cost with processing included. Our cost guide walks through the method and our comparison pages have a calculator per platform. Then weigh the model itself, because fixed fees hurt in quiet months while percentages cost more in the good ones, and check the martial arts specifics - gradings, syllabus, licensing, safeguarding - because generalist software treats those as afterthoughts. Download the member app of anything you shortlist; more churn starts there than in the admin panel. And ask every vendor how you would leave. The confident ones answer quickly.
