Martial Arts Club Software Cost UK (2026) - OurClub

How much does martial arts club software cost in the UK?

Between £77 and £125 a month. That is what a 40-student club pays on most of the platforms in this market once you add the card processing fees the headline price leaves out, and it is the number to hold in your head while every vendor quotes you something that sounds smaller.

This guide gets every platform onto that same all-in footing. We build OurClub, so we have a position, and it is declared where it matters. Every competitor figure below comes from that vendor’s own published pricing, with the month we checked it.

The three pricing models

The market genuinely does price three ways, so three it is.

  • Flat monthly fee, banded by member count. Gymdesk ($75 to $200/month), Martialytics ($69 to $199) and Kicksite ($49 to $199) work this way, as listed on their pricing pages in July and August 2026. Predictable, with a catch in the band edges: on Kicksite, going from 50 to 51 students moves you from $99 to $149.
  • Flat fee plus a commission. MAAT charges $49 to $59 a month plus 1% of your transactions, with Stripe’s processing fees on top (their pricing page, August 2026).
  • Percentage of what you process. NEST Management charges 1.98% to 6% of collections with a £50 monthly minimum, fees included (their pricing page, August 2026). OurClub is also a percentage model: no monthly fee, one all-in rate from 3.25% that tapers as volume grows, card and transaction fees included.

The fee most quotes leave out

A flat software fee is rarely the whole bill. Unless a platform states that fees are included, card processing is charged on top by the payment provider. Stripe’s standard UK rate is 1.5% plus 20p per transaction, and some platforms add their own margin: ClubRight lists Stripe collection at 1.95% plus 20p on top of its £79 to £129 monthly plans (their pricing page, July 2026).

For a club collecting £3,000 a month from 100 members, standard processing alone runs to roughly £65 a month. Any comparison that ignores it flatters every flat-fee platform by exactly that much.

A taekwondo gym in south Wales told us they had got as far as liking one competitor’s fixed pricing, then read the full quote and found transaction fees stacked on top of the monthly fee. They walked away from the whole idea and stayed on standing orders and cash at the desk. The admin was costing them, they reckoned - just not that much.

Worked examples: 40, 100 and 200 students

The table assumes an average membership of £30 a month and one payment per member, and adds standard Stripe processing wherever a platform excludes it. Competitor plan prices are list prices at the access dates above, converted from USD where needed. Treat them as estimates; every club’s payment mix is different.

NEST (their published band averages)≈ £78≈ £150≈ £349

Reading the table honestly

Small clubs are where the models separate. A 40-student club pays most platforms between £77 and £125 a month because the fixed fee lands whether or not much money moved. On a pure percentage the same club pays under half that, and a brand-new club with nothing coming in yet pays nothing.

By 200 students the gap has narrowed a long way, and if the percentage did not taper it would eventually invert. So it tapers: OurClub’s founding ladder falls from 3.25% toward 2.75%, and clubs registering on or after 1 November 2026 join the standard ladder, from 4.25% toward 3.75%. If your club is large, steady and fee-sensitive, run both models against your own bank statements before believing anyone’s marketing, ours included. The calculator on our comparison pages will do the arithmetic per platform.

Questions to ask any vendor

Six that surface the real bill. A vendor who answers all six without a follow-up call is telling you something good about the rest of their product too.

  • Is card processing included, or on top? At what rate?
  • What happens to my bill in a quiet month, or over the summer break?
  • Which features cost extra? Ask specifically about the member app, messaging, SMS and websites.
  • Is there a contract, a minimum term, or a minimum monthly fee?
  • What does the price become at double my current member count?
  • How do I get my data out if I leave?
